Where to Watch at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Catalunya benefits from some of the best grandstand views on the Formula 1 calendar. See the action from the starting grid, the pit garages and the podium celebrations with tickets in the Main Grandstand, or see all of the overtaking at Turn 1 with seats in Grandstands A, E and F. Grandstand L is also recommended, where you’ll have panoramic views of the cars both at Turn 1 and on the infield section of track.

Barcelona Grand Prix History

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been a mainstay on the Formula 1 calendar since 1991, when it first hosted the Spanish Grand Prix. The event moves to Madrid in 2026, but the much-loved Catalunya circuit remains on the calendar as host of the Barcelona Grand Prix. Just three races here have been won away from the front row of the grid - all three classics: Michael Schumacher’s victory in the rain-soaked 1996 race, Fernando Alonso’s most recent career win of his career in 2013 and Max Verstappen’s maiden win making him F1’s youngest-ever winner in 2016.

About Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is located just a short train ride out of Barcelona, one of Europe’s most visited cities. Barcelona is home to impressive architecture, including the iconic Sagrada Familia - the unfinished church, where construction began almost 150 years ago. The city also has a thriving nightlife, where you can enjoy tapas culture, restaurants and bars after a busy day at the track. The circuit itself is close to the town of Montmelo, which is well linked by public transport from Barcelona.
