The 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix is coming up on July 23-26. Here is everything you need to know if you’re heading to the Hungaroring this year.
The only Formula 1 race to have been held behind the Iron Curtain has been a constant calendar presence for over forty years. A popular race with both fans and drivers, the Hungarian Grand Prix takes place right before the summer break on the outskirts of the Hungarian capital, Budapest. Expect warm temperatures, exciting racing and a fantastic atmosphere at the track and in downtown Budapest, as fans from all over Europe come together for race weekend.

Accessing the Circuit
- Location Map: Hungaroring
- Driving & Parking: The Hungaroring is located around 20km (12mi) northwest of central Budapest and is accessed via the M3 motorway. Most carparks close to the circuit are free on race weekend, though the parking lots closest to the circuit are paid. You’ll need to be patient leaving the circuit, especially after qualifying and the race, as traffic can become very congested. Learn more here.
- Public Transport: Train services run from the Örs vezér tere metro station to several stops close to the Hungaroring, from where you can either walk or take a shuttle bus to and from the track. Alternatively, you can take the City Shuttle bus service from Heroes Square. You can also take an official Főtaxi or ride share (Bolt) to the circuit. The advantage of taking an official taxi is that the driver can use the VIP lane to access/leave the circuit more quickly. A large taxi rank is located close to the main gate, though the queue to leave the circuit can be long at the end of the day. All transport options are covered here.
- Entrance Gates & Opening Times: Gates open at 07:30 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Gates close at 19:30 on Friday and Saturday, and 20:00 on Sunday. You can enter the circuit via five main access gates (2,3,6,7,8), which are marked on the circuit map above. Prohibited items at the Hungaroring are listed in the Terms and Conditions.
F1 Paddock Club at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix
The F1 Paddock Club at the Hungaroring is located in the newly constructed pits and paddock building, which was completed ahead of last year’s race weekend. The Paddock Club occupies two floors above the pits, with excellent views of the start-finish straight and pit lane at the Hungaroring.
- Finding the Paddock Club, Parking & Shuttles: The main entrance of the Paddock Club in Hungary can be found close to the pit exit. It can be accessed via shuttle buses, which run from the Paddock Club parking area near the main gate, or on foot via a tunnel from the main spectator area on the other side of the track (close to the Main grandstand). - Paddock Club Map: Most Paddock Club suites are located on the first floor of the building, where you’ll also find a common Club Lounge area near the entrance. A second Club Lounge is located on the rooftop (covered, but open). Check the map and find your suite here.

Trackside Entertainment at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix
- Fan Zone: You’ll find two main Fan Zones at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The first is located behind the Hungaroring grandstand (Main grandstand) on the start-finish straight. A second and larger Fan Zone with a stage is located on the hill, close to the final corners of the circuit. The stage in this Fan Zone hosts DJs, concerts and appearances by F1 drivers over the weekend.
- Food & Drink: Food and drink concessions are located near the majority of the grandstands at the Hungaroring. Food options can be unhealthy and expensive. If you wish to bring your own food, you are allowed to enter the circuit with up to three sandwiches (or equivalent) per person, as well as up to one liter of liquid (one plastic bottle, can or flask of water and other non-alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, beer, other). Free water refill stations are located in the Fan Zones and near most grandstands.
- Payment: Most vendors accept electronic payments at the Hungarian Grand Prix, though some may only take cash. It’s always better to pay in local currency (Hungarian Forint), rather than EURO.
- Trackside Concerts: Local artists and DJs will be performing on the stage in the Fan Zone across the weekend. The full schedule, including when the F1 drivers will be appearing, will be available closer to race weekend on the Hungaroring website.

Elevate your weekend at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix
Get the most from your time trackside at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix with our tips!
- Weather: It’s often sunny and very hot at the Hungaroring, and only the Hungaroring (Main) grandstand is covered. Take a hat and sunscreen, keep up your liquid intake throughout the day (and we don’t mean beer), and seek shaded areas when you can. Take along a drink container (plastic bottle, can or flask) and use the free water refill stations around the track.
- Pit Lane Walk: A public pit lane walk is held on Thursday afternoon, July 23. Tickets cost 50 EUR and are already sold out. You will need to have both a pit lane walk and 3-day race ticket to participate. More information here.
- Fan Zone Extra: The Fan Zone is also open on Thursday, July 23 from 13:30-20:00. This is open to fans who do not have a 3-day race ticket and entry costs 35. More details are here.
