A classic circuit will make a popular return to the calendar next year, and you could be there with Grand Prix events. Start planning your trip to the 2027 Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul.

When is the 2027 Turkish Grand Prix?
The 2027 Turkish Grand Prix will be held from 1-3 October.
Where is the race being held?
At the Istanbul Park circuit, about 45km southwest of Turkey's biggest city. The anti-clockwise 5.338km circuit features 14 turns, including the legendary Turn 8 with four apexes. Considered one of the best modern circuit designs by Hermann Tilke, Istanbul Park has hosted the Turkish Grand Prix nine times, from 2005-2011 and from 2020-2021. Istanbul Park, which can accommodate in excess of 200,000 fans, has one of the largest spectator capacities of any current Formula 1 circuit. In April of this year, it was confirmed that the Turkish Grand Prix will return to the calendar from 2027 as part of a five-year deal.
Why visit Istanbul?
One of the most visited cities in the world, Istanbul is a melting pot of ancient cultures where Europe meets Asia. From its historic architecture and beautiful mosques to lively cultural, nightlife, and shopping districts, Istanbul is an exciting destination for your next Formula 1 adventure. Make sure you add an extra day or two to your itinerary to see the highlights of this exciting city.
Do I need a visa to visit Turkey?
Citizens of the European Union, as well as Australia, Canada, the UK and the USA, do not require a visa to visit Turkey for a tourist stay of up to 90 days in any 180 day period.

How to get to Istanbul Park?
The Istanbul Park circuit is only about 10km from Istanbul's second airport, Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW), which is a major hub for Turkish low-cost carriers Pegasus Airlines and AJet, and also has flights from Dubai (FlyDubai), Doha (Qatar Airways) and Kuala Lumpur (AirAsia X).
For a much larger number of international connections with Turkish Airlines and other flag carriers, you'll need to fly into Istanbul Airport (IST), which is some 80km away from the circuit on the other side of the city. Regular shuttle bus services run from both of Istanbul's airports to the city's centre. Taxis are also a relatively affordable means of getting around in Istanbul.

Where to stay?
Plenty of airport hotels servicing Sabiha Gokcen International Airport are located within 10km of the track if you want to be close to the action. Alternatively, we recommend staying on the Asian side of Istanbul in Kadıköy, where you have good transport links to the circuit and easy access to the main touristic sites on the European side of the city.
