Don’t miss any of the action at the popular Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this year with official tickets for the 2026 Barcelona Grand Prix.

Top reasons to attend the 2026 Barcelona Grand Prix
Located on the outskirts of the vibrant and bustling seaside city of Barcelona, the Barcelona Grand Prix has grown to become one of the most popular races for fans to attend in Europe.
Built in 1991 as part of Barcelona’s development programme for the 1992 Summer Olympics, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosted the Spanish Grand Prix for more than 30 years.
This year, the Spanish Grand Prix moves to a new home in Madrid. Whilst Barcelona retains a calendar in 2026, as of next year, it will become a biennial event. That means this is your last chance to see Formula 1 in Barcelona until 2028!
With two Spanish drivers on the grid, Fernando Alonso with Aston Martin and Carlos Sainz with Williams, the grandstands will be packed with local fans eager to see their heroes in action.
Easily accessible by car or by public transport from nearby Barcelona, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya offers an excellent choice for fans looking to extend their stay to include a city break and perhaps even a day or two at the beach.

Famous moments at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Having been on the calendar for more than 30 years, there are many memorable moments to choose from past grands prix here, but there are a few that tend to stand out ahead of the others...
1991 - Mansell and Senna go wheel-to-wheel
Arguably one of the most famous moments from F1’s long history at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya came during the very first running of this event. You’ll surely have seen it… Nigel Mansell and Ayrton Senna going wheel to wheel down the Main Straight just a few inches apart. These two F1 greats were at the top of their game back in ‘91, but an uncharacteristic spin from Senna handed Mansell the opportunity to hunt down and pass the Brazilian's McLaren teammate Gerhard Berger late in the race to become the circuit’s very first F1 winner.
1996 - Schumacher scores his first win for Ferrari in heavy rain
Michael Schumacher’s 1996 Spanish Grand Prix win, his first as a Ferrari driver, is arguably the finest of his career and one of the most memorable races held here. In a car that was far from being the quickest in the field, Schumacher dominated the race while his rivals struggled in truly treacherous wet conditions, taking the flag more than 45 seconds clear of second-placed Jean Alesi.
2006 - Alonso scores dominant lights-to-flag win on home soil
Already the reigning World Champion, Fernando Alonso was at his absolute peak in 2006 and cemented his place in Spanish motorsport history with a dominant first F1 win on home soil. Having taken pole position, Alonso was on another level in the race as he cruised to the victory more than 18 seconds clear of his main rival for that year’s title, Michael Schumacher.
2012 - Maldonado scores shock F1 win, the last for Williams
In scenes that barely seem real even 14 years on, Pastor Maldonado scored a shock Spanish Grand Prix win for Williams, their last in F1 (to date) and the one and only F1 win of Maldonado’s career. In a season that began with seven different winners from as many races, Maldonado’s was undoubtedly the most unexpected of them, and it ended up being one of only five points finishes for the Venezuelan all season.
2016 - Verstappen becomes youngest F1 winner on Red Bull debut
In only his second season in F1, Max Verstappen made history by becoming the youngest grand prix winner in history, aged 18 years and 228 days. What makes this result even more remarkable is that it came on his debut for the Red Bull team following his controversial promotion from Toro Rosso. He did get a little helping hand, however, as both the Mercedes drivers - Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg - were eliminated in a collision on the first lap that left team boss Toto Wolff fuming.
