Don’t miss any of the action at the iconic Suzuka circuit in 2027 with tickets for the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix.

Top reasons to attend the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix
Home to the Japanese Grand Prix since 1987, the legendary Suzuka Circuit is a must-visit for any Formula 1 fan. Situated around 50km south-west of Japan’s third-largest city, Nagoya, Suzuka is equally as popular with fans as it is with the teams and drivers.
Having held a late-season calendar slot for many years, Suzuka was the stage for many dramatic title deciders, and its unique figure-of-eight layout has played host to some of the most memorable moments in F1 history.
Suzuka is well known for its passionate and eccentric home crowd who travel from across Japan and beyond to catch a glimpse of their heroes. It’s not uncommon to see fans dressed in eye-catching outfits, paying homage to their favourite drivers and teams.
Visitors to the circuit can enjoy a number of exciting activities in addition to the on-track action, including a lively F1 Fanzone, a rollercoaster and Ferris wheel.

Memorable Japanese Grand Prix moments
For many, it’s impossible not to pair Suzuka with the intense rivalry that played out between F1 legends Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. The McLaren teammates collided at Suzuka in both 1989 and 1990, securing the drivers’ title for Prost in 1989 and Senna in 1990.
The most memorable Japanese Grand Prix held in more recent times came in 2005. Locked in a tense title battle with Fernando Alonso’s Renault team, McLaren’s Kimi Räikkönen had the worst possible start to a race he needed to win for his championship hopes.
A poor qualifying left him starting 17th, but having gambled on a heavy-fuel load (at a time when fuel played a significant role in race strategy), Räikkönen was able to work his way through the field and back into contention during an incident-strewn race.
As the Finn’s fuel-load lightened, the pace and handling of his McLaren improved, enabling him to hunt down Alonso’s teammate and race leader Giancarlo Fisichella in the closing stages of the race. A brilliant final lap overtake around the outside of Turn 1 sent the crowd into raptures and gave Räikkönen the finest win of his F1 career.

The best ways to experience the Japanese Grand Prix
Fans looking to attend the 2027 Japanese Grand Prix can choose from a wide selection of tickets. General admission, grandstand seating and hospitality packages will all be available to book directly through Grand Prix Events.
Suzuka features some of the most famous corners of the F1 calendar, and history buffs will no doubt recall a famous incident at each and every turn on the 5.8km circuit.
The Main Grandstand is huge, comprising an upper and lower section, and is conveniently located next to the F1 Fanzone. A seat here offers a great vantage point to see the grid and start/finish line, while those seated in the upper section of the stand will be able to see more clearly what’s happening in the pit lane as well as the fast sweeping right-hander at Turn 1.
The Q2 Grandstand is highly recommended for fans looking to catch sight of the final corner chicane (where Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna famously collided in 1989) as well as the entrance to the pit lane. Known as the ‘Casio Triangle’, the final corner features a hard braking zone which encourages plenty of overtaking manoeuvres during the race.
Grandstand D offers views of the legendary sequence through Turns 3 to 6. This is where Formula 1 drivers really earn their money at Suzuka, as it requires impeccable car control, and precision placement to minimise lap time loss. The ‘S’ shaped Grandstand is uncovered, but the views are worth it.
