Built over 100 years ago, Monza is steeped in history thanks to its longstanding place on the F1 calendar and deep-rooted association with Italy’s legendary team, Ferrari. The track has appeared on every World Championship calendar bar one since F1’s inaugural 1950 season, with Ferrari winning a record 20 times from the 76 races held so far at the track.
As the spiritual home of the ‘Tifosi’, Monza’s race day atmosphere is often regarded as one of the best in F1, and the Italian Grand Prix is one of the best-attended European races on the calendar. A particularly special moment is the post-race celebrations underneath the circuit’s unique podium, where the fans gather to celebrate the race winner; regardless of if they’re wearing red or not!

In 2027, race fans will be treated to an extra slice of racing action at Monza, with the Italian Grand Prix selected as one of ten Grands Prix to host the F1 Sprint format. That means two qualifying sessions and two races over the Italian Grand Prix weekend.
Results at the circuit can be unexpected - like Pierre Gasly's maiden win in 2020 or his maiden pole with Alpine in 2026 - and there's a great line-up of support races, too. Formula 2 and Formula 3 will contest two races each across the weekend.
One of only two Grands Prix – along with the British Grand Prix – to have been a part of the F1 calendar every year since its inception, there’s simply no better place than the Italian Grand Prix for a pure blend of drama, passion and history.
