United States Grand Prix History
Over the course of Formula 1’s history, the United States Grand Prix had struggled to find a permanent home - that is until Circuit of The Americas joined the Formula 1 calendar in 2012. The sport’s growth and ongoing popularity in the United States since means that the Austin race is now one of the best-attended of the year. COTA opened only in 2012 but has all the old-school charm of the classic racing circuits on the calendar.
